Carbondale, CO
The Venue
The wedding will take place at the Evil Aunties’ ranch in Carbondale, Colorado. More details to come! Please enjoy some images of their backyard in the meantime!
Carbondale sits at approximately 6,000 feet above sea level, and guests arriving from lower elevations may notice the difference. Give your body a little time to adjust, particularly during the first day or two of your stay. See more elevation tips below.
Flights
You can fly into Denver (DIA) or Eagle-Vail (EGE)*. The drive from Denver to Carbondale is about 3.5 hours. The drive/Uber/taxi from Eagle-Vail is about 1 hour. Both journeys are beautiful.
*If you are flying into Eagle Airport: We recommend the flights that “layover” in Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Chicago, etc, and avoid the flights that go through Denver. While infrequent, the smaller planes from Denver get cancelled more often than the larger planes coming in from out of state.

The Area
a word about elevation
Carbondale sits at approximately 6,000 feet above sea level, and guests arriving from lower elevations may notice the difference. Give your body a little time to adjust, particularly during the first day or two of your stay.
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the weekend. Hydration or electrolyte packets can be helpful.
Wear sunscreen: burnt skin leads to more dehydration and even more susceptibility to altitude sickness.
Take it easy: You may get winded more quickly than usual. Give yourself time to acclimate before strenuous hikes or activities.
Pace your drinks: Alcohol can feel stronger at elevation. Start slowly, alternate with water, and see how you feel.
Consider arriving early: An extra day to acclimate before the festivities can make a difference.
Know the signs: Headache, nausea, dizziness and unusual fatigue can be symptoms of altitude sickness.
We recommend packing: a reusable water bottle, hydration/electrolyte packets and plenty of sunscreen. Portable oxygen cans are widely available in Colorado, but should not be relied upon to prevent or treat altitude sickness.
